Does anyone else have a husband who says, “forget about celebrating Birthday week, its more like Birthday month?” haha Well mine does and I must say, its always a good reason to go eat at my favorite restaurant,Shinsei. And share some yummy sushi with my girlfriends and of course a libation or two as well, right? I hate to actually admit it but I have celebrated there the last three Thursday night’s (that’s my GNO night) with different groups of girlfriends. One week was fellow Freshman Mom’s, the next was with my Sophomore Mom friends, and last week I celebrated with my girlfriend’s from college.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my actual birthday with my dear parents at one of my favorite lunch spots here in Dallas, Grange Hall. And later dinner that night with my two eldest daughters, as my youngest was in a soccer tournament and could not come with us. And you guessed it of course I wanted sushi, so we went to another Pan-Asain restaurant that is a little bit off the beaten path, but very reasonably priced, always so incredibly fresh and another family favorite.

This Thursday I cannot wait to celebrate with my dear High School friends that still live here in Dallas at another favorite restaurant of mine (and yes they also have sushi an their menu as well). Most people cannot believe that I am still that close with my High School friends. But we attended an all-girls High School here in Dallas and that is a bond that will never be broken.

I truly believe that its all of these different bonds that we share with other women that get us through our toughest of times. I have always relied on these women in my life and will continue to do so. Don’t get me wrong life gets busy and time seems like its moving at a much more rapid rate these last few years. But no matter how much time has passed since some of us have seen each other we are immediately brought back to our old, silly, fun-loving selves without a care in the world and never missing a beat. Laughter is always the best medicine in my book and when I’m with my girlfriends there’s always plenty of laughs. Like they say good friends are like stars, you don’t always see them but they’re always there.
