RED & RUFFLED FOR THE HOLIDAYS
If you’re a regular here at SSS, you know my love for anything ruffled. I found this exquisite Johanna Ortiz red, ruffled bodysuit while I was doing a little online shopping over the holidays at one of the most unique retailers around, Moda Operandi. What makes them different than all the rest you ask? First of all, they carry so many items that are not available anywhere else. Second, they have trunk shows throughout the year where you are able to pre-order next season’s designs straight from the runway! How great is that? You pay half the price when you order the item, and the other half when it comes in stock. This ensures the item will be yours before it ever has the chance to sell out. How many times have you found an item you love, yet when go back to purchase it, it has already sold out in your size? This pre-ordering concept is genius and who doesn’t love to be the first one wearing next season’s hottest styles? Right now they are previewing all of the trending pieces for Pre-Fall ’18. Moda Operandi makes it easy for you, so there’s no guessing as to what will be the hot items for the new season. Plus for 4 days only enjoy an exclusive extra 30% off newly added sale items with code ‘GIFT30’ (up to 70% off). Valid 12/15 – 12/18. Keep reading for all the details…
This blouse is made by one of my absolute favorite and most inspiring fashion designers. Her name is Johanna Ortiz. After graduating from design school, Johanna Ortiz returned to her native Colombia to launch her label. What began just as a swimwear brand soon evolved into a ready-to-wear line, known for its fun, festive, vibrant designs. Somehow she always finds the balance between delicate femininity and sensual masculinity. My Johanna Ortiz Jicarilla Gingham Bodysuit features a fun, flirty relaxed fit and a very soft, stretchy bottom. It’s so comfortable you actually forget you’re even wearing a bodysuit. To me, the best part about a bodysuit is you don’t have to worry about your blouse coming undone, untucked or bunching up underneath all your clothes. As far as sizing goes this Johanna Ortiz red, ruffled bodysuit runs TTS, I am wearing a size 4.
I’ve styled my ravishing, red, ruffled blouse with a simple pair of Frame black jeans and stunning black heels for this photo shoot. The reason I chose black was to show how you easily can wear this throughout the holidays. I love the versatility of this blouse. I plan on wearing it to Christmas Eve Mass and dinner while we are on vacation at the beach. The only difference I will make is I plan on swapping out my black denim and heels for white denim and sandals for a more beachy look.
My earrings by designer Rebecca de Ravenel are another obsession of mine! Rebecca de Ravenel ‘Les Bonbon Earrings (also found in these colors, similar here & on sale here as well) are ‘inspired by the bazaars of the far east and a childhood spent traveling between the Bahamas and Paris. They are all handmade in India, and most importantly the embroidered drop earrings are lightweight, bold and playful’. Moda Operandi has one of the best collections of this season’s must have accessory.
Some of Johanna’s pieces are on major sale right now on Moda Operandi, so I wanted to share some of my favorite items. I also purchased this gorgeous white blouse by Johanna (I actually sized down in this one to a size 2) and I am buying this one next. The best part is both of these are now on sale! There are so many great finds on sale at Moda Operandi right now you should check them out. Many items can be worn now, and again later in the spring and summer like my red, ruffled blouse.
I’m hoping that if you weren’t familiar with Moda Operandi before, it now will become one of your favorite online shopping destinations for unique and exquisite pieces like it has for me.

Special thanks to Moda Operandi for partnering on this post. As always, all opinions and selections are my own.
