Summa Stripes + New Blogger Collab with @soheatherblog ‘The Street Edit’

I have fabulous news Street Style Squad is now officially collaborating with @soheatherblog. We met recently and the connection between us was immediate! We both have very similar tastes and interests and soon realized that we also shared a love for all things Tash & Elle of TheyAllHateUs as well. Through their inspiration we decided that we could be the next Tash & Elle here in the United States. I am truly honored and thrilled for the next step in our journey together with our collaboration. And as always so happy to have my Squad around for the ride.

The classic iconic Breton stripe shirt has been popular for many decades and never seems to go out of fashion. It was first introduced in 1858 in France as the uniform for all French naval seamen and afterwards made popular by Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, and Audrey Hepburn. Lately this classic navy and white stripe has had a modern makeover with mismatched patterns as seen on the spring 2016 runways of Missoni, Preen and Stella McCartney. Here I am wearing a classic blue stripe blouse by BCBG Max Azria, with a modern contrasting bell-sleeve. I absolutely just love this fun, fresh, flattering sleeve especially worn with a cute cropped denim jean and, of course, a fabulous pair of shoes. I finish the look with an intricate Summer handbag and a simple but elegant belt. One of my favorite designers, Lemlem, always seems to have a leg up on this growing trend of mixing and matching fun color-blocked stripes to stripes, flowing in contrasting directions on a variety of blouses, dresses, tunics, scarfs, rompers, and even shorts. I hope you will try this strikingly fun, modern way of wearing stripes. I know it will be a fashion trend that will be a staple of the spring and summer 2016 seasons and beyond.
